Role Summary
 
Working in partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent (Chatham Location) is actively recruiting for a genuine, engaging, and flexible Director of Operations to join their trusted and experienced team in Chatham, Ontario. The Director of Operations will be able to inspire and build purposeful relationships with their team members and the community at large. This transparent and dedicated Director will be essential in providing overall clinical leadership and operational oversight to all programs and services at the Chatham Kent sites. This includes managing direct reports by delegating work, establishing and managing job performance measures, day-to-day supervision, equity of opportunities, coaching, and conducting performance appraisals.

Reporting to the VP of Community Services and Organizational Effectiveness, the Director of Operations will be responsible for the following:
 
  • Development of staff through modelling, coaching, and training opportunities.
  • Provides leadership to Management regarding the effective utilization of human resources.
  • Monitors site operational budgets developed in conjunction with the finance team.
  • Provides mandatory reporting to the Board Quality Committee.
  • Develops and participates in the implementation of operational goals to meet the strategic objectives of the organization and monitors progress and goal attainment.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Community Services and the leadership team, develop the organization's Operations Plan.
  • In coordination with Leadership and Decision Support, develops organizational performance measurements to monitor the attainment of operational goals and objectives.
  • Serves as the organizational resource or the VP’s delegate to internal and external advisory committees, task forces and community projects, including acting as a liaison with CKOHT, hospitals and partners as required.
  • Develops collaborative working relationships with funders, partners etc., or provides leadership through direct reports to this process.

Qualifications

As the Director of Operations of CMHA Lambton Kent (Chatham Location), you will require the following:
  • Graduate degree in Social Work or related discipline or a Master’s Degree in Nursing with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Advanced practice and leadership experience in community mental health service delivery, usually gained by a minimum of 8 years working in a community-based mental health service delivery organization at a senior leadership level.
  • Certification in Healthcare Management, leadership, or clearly demonstrated experience at a senior management level.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Preference will be given to a qualified candidate proficient in both official languages (English and French).

The empathetic and integrity-based leader will also have excellent communication skills at all levels and have strong knowledge and experience working with interdisciplinary team members to ensure they have the resources they require to serve their community. Finally, the highly collaborative Director of Operations will demonstrate the resourcefulness and ambition to consistently meet the needs of the organization and the community it serves, creating a positive impact on the Canadian Mental health Association Lambton Kent (Chatham Location’s) clients to continue providing outstanding care.
