The Robarts Research Institute within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University has made its mission to accelerate medical discovery. Through a powerful integration of basic and clinical research, we are driving major advances that impact on many of today's most devastating diseases.
 
The Robarts Project Coordinator will be expected to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders on a variety of Institute-wide projects that requires expertise in all areas of project execution, control and successful delivery. The incumbent will be responsible to lead the overall planning, management, and coordination of assigned projects using project management skills to define project deliverables and metrics, identify resource requirements, manage project roles, meet training needs, provide customer satisfaction and reporting structures and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   Honours Undergraduate degree
-   Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
-   Master's Degree is preferred
 
Experience:
-   5 years' project management experience, successfully managing large and/or multiple projects
-   Experience with process and project management methodologies, metrics development and database management with an eye to continuous improvement even after implementation
-   Project management experience working in the research, health, education or public sector is preferred
-   Experience in PeopleSoft applications, database management, web-based applications is preferred

-   A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
-   Sound judgment and decision making skills
-   Experience building executive relationships and proven ability to operate, collaborate and influence at all levels
-   Strong business acumen with an ability to influence, motivate and inspire with or without positional authority
-   Critical thinking and discernment to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to offer creative solutions
-   Proven ability to take initiative and in depth knowledge of how to champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
-   Proven ability in translating business needs to functional requirements
-   Strong customer service skills and ability to understand and translate customer needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service directly and indirectly to meet or exceed expectations
-   Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
-   Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle diverse situations, multiple and complex projects and rapidly changing priorities
-   Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems
-   Proven ability to plan and manage events of various sizes
-   Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
-   High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software applications (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
