An opportunity exists for you to work in an exciting and transforming organization! Reporting to the Manager of Food Service, the Team Lead will provide front line leadership to the Food Services Department. This position requires an experienced leader who will support this group to ensure STEGH is leading edge in Food Service initiatives.
You will provide a hands-on approach, working with your team to further develop their skills, as well as the organization’s effectiveness in addressing concerns/priorities. You will provide technical expertise and be a key resource for the Department. You will have strong leadership skills that will effectively translate vision to action and be an effective change agent.
Hours:
The successful candidate must be available to work 37.50 hours per week with a willingness to adjust your schedule to work during regular kitchen hours (0600 – 2015) and work the occasional evening/weekend shift as the needs dictate.

Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor or advanced degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Nutrition or Food Service Administration.
- Current active status as a Registered Dietitian (membership in College of Dietitians of Canada) or Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) with strong clinical experience.
- Current Safe Food Handler Certificate
- Minimum three (3) years experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles; preferably within Food Services in a healthcare environment.
- Current with the latest innovative trends in patient food delivery models.
- Demonstrated behaviors supporting our core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop employees during times of change and shifting priorities.
- Labour relations experience in a unionized setting is a definite asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Highly developed critical thinking skills with an innovative approach to analyzing and solving problems, decision making, planning and evaluation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with diversity, appreciating that different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics can bring richness to the challenge at hand
- Well developed proficiency in MS Office Programs and working knowledge of Food Service IT Systems.
- Familiarity with Nutrition and Food Service automated systems (At Your Request) would be an asset
- Lean training is a definite asset
- Possess a Safety Leadership training (Public Services Health and Safety Association – PSHSA) certificate or be willing to obtain;
- Excellent and dependable attendance and performance record.
