Job Description
Our client a large automotive manufacturer located in South Western Ontario is in search of a Tool and Die Maker to join their team on a fulltime basis.
Job Duties - Assist with troubleshooting and repairing dies. Perform preventative maintenance on dies. Set up and operate milling machines, lathes and surface grinders. Assist with all duties within the department.
Skills Required - Mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting ability. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Operation of forklift and overhead crane. Ability to read blueprints and instruct apprentices. Experience with die building and working with progressive and transfer presses/dies preferred.
Terms of Employment - Excellent work ethic, safety and attendance record required. 40 + hours required per week and must be available to work rotating shifts and weekends (when required).
Position is overtime eligible. Company benefits and pension plan.
Education/Experience - Must have provincial certification (Tool & Die) and proven troubleshooting experience. Will also consider 3rd year apprentices who have successfully completed all 3 levels of schooling for Tool & Die.
