Financial Analyst
 
REPORTING: Director of Finance
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst will work as an integral member of a highly skilled financial team. In this 
position, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating complex financial information. You 
will be required to keep abreast of key trends in the finance profession and the financial industry, 
as well as collecting and analyzing data to gain a better understanding about what impacts 
financial results. 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is expected for collecting, compiling, managing and 
reporting on timely and accurate financial information to support the divisions within TransForm. 
You will also work with divisional team to complete routine, financial and operational work. As an 
integral member of the team, the Financial Analyst is a good problem solver and will work with a 
broad range of people at all levels and prepare complex analyses and spreadsheets on specific 
financial data that can be used to generate reports. Furthermore, he or she is responsible for 
performing detailed cost and financial analysis for TransForm. In addition, you will be required to 
prepare financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts. The successful candidate 
may also be called upon to assist with internal and external audit requests.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
University Degree in Mathematics/Finance/Business Administration/Economics or 
equivalent combination of education and experience;
3 to 5 years experience in finance
CPA CMA/CGA/CA designation is required
Demonstrated Experience and compliance with GAAP
An understanding of, and experience with MIS is an asset
Advanced Microsoft Office applications knowledge and proven experience (Excel, Access, 
MS Project, and Crystal Reports)
Healthcare experience preferred
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strong knowledge of financial business, objectives and business priorities
Understanding of hospital stakeholders, client service delivery methodologies and overall 
issues and priorities within the healthcare sector
Issue definition and solving, determining the appropriate solution based on MIS principles, 
GAAP requirement
Ability to use computer finance planning and modeling tools (knowledge of business 
budgeting and forecasting) and ability to train on analytical tools
Proven experience in project management and/or process improvement with the ability to 
translate seemingly complex concepts into clear and concise presentations
Responsible for the development, maintenance, analysis and communication of ongoing and 
ad hoc financial information and reports across the organization
Prepares financial modeling scenarios for divisional teams, financial statements for 
presentation to the division, Directors, Chiefs and Board Members
In consultation with the divisions, creates and analyzes budgets
Develops and implements financial policies, performs audits of expense reports and follows 
up on variance in relation to policy
Collaborates with divisional chiefs and Directors and other users to identify organizational 
efficiency opportunities, issues, data resources and appropriate product information
Provides operational support to the finance team
General ledger data integrity, maintenance and account analysis
Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business
Assess expenses and look for cost saving strategies and opportunities
Leads the development and maintenance of all required supporting documents for the 
budgeting and forecasting processes
Drives the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analyzing trends within the 
businesses and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide objectives
Works with the external auditors to ensure audits are completed on a timely basis
Reporting to external stakeholders when required (Maintenance Costs, Licensing Fees, etc.)
Reviews financial statements and advises the director as to the availability and balance of 
funds Financial statements
Cash management, bank reconciliation
Provides senior level review and input on key indicators (e.g. A/R aging, expenses, cash flow)
Undertakes analysis and prepares various expense accounts and financial submissions to OntarioBuys
Reports financial results to team members, managers and Directors as required
Maintains the accounts receivable billing systems (Simply Accounting), prepares billings and 
follow up on all outstanding payment for collection.

Must be able to sit at a desk for extended period of time
Must be able to lift 30 pounds on occasion
Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position exposed to stress 
and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines
 
OTHER CONDITIONS:
Must be able to travel within the Erie St Clair area on a regular basis, using own vehicle
Must be able to work evenings and weekends when required
Must be available to perform other duties as assigned
Must meet the benchmarked standards and requirements of the job
Must follow all company policies and procedures
