Our valued client located just minutes outside of London is looking for a SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER to join the Mechanical Engineering team at their fast growing company.  This permanent position offers great benefits, job security with a stable market, a position with a company that cares about work life balance and career progression!

This Sr Mechanical Designer will be developing automation processes and creating design packages in Solidworks for custom automation systems that are cost effective and produce a quality, functional machine that meets specifications and timeline.  They will be providing a detailed drawing package for manufacturing within the required timeline that is accurate and results in minimal rework.

Additional responsibilities;

•    Identify and research mechanical components for the project to ensure they meet requirements and add into the design
•    Communicate with suppliers to discuss component specifications, pricing, and lead time
•    Document information for Customer Manuals: As built Drawing package, BOMs, spare parts lists, maintenance items, and OEM documentation
•    Develop design, report and label templates within Solidworks, as well as populating libraries in coordination with the group
•    Weekly meeting with Mechanical Design group to discuss to group initiatives, priorities, workload, address any current issues or inefficiencies within the design group and generate solutions
•    As the Assigned Project Lead will oversee all aspects of project related to specified discipline and ensure it is completed within budget and timeline provided
•    Communicate project status regularly with PM & Manufacturing Manager
•    Review delegated work of team members to ensure it meets functional requirements
•    Provide support during installation and guarantee that machine functionality reflects or exceeds pre-install status

Education/Experience;

•    Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering 
•    5+ yrs in the Automation Industry
•    Solidworks, MSOffice, Epicor and Windows 7+
