Position Overview: A BGL Client requires a Senior or Intermediate Technical Project Manager who has managed large infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for managing a number of technical projects (i.e., servers, digital channels.) They need solid MS Project experience. This is a 1 year contract.
 
Location: London or Mississauga (London is preferred)
Start: September 2, 2014
Rate: $65.00-$75.00/hour
Term: 1 Year Contract
 
Job Description: Key roles for this job are:
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise complex informatics assignments.
  • Design and apply new methods and procedures.
  • Coordinate systems development for major applications, define project requirements including information and data needs, business analysis and programming.
  • Develop, plan, analyze, evaluate and assign priorities to deliverables and requirements.
  • Define project phases, set deadlines and manage staff.
  • Develop project plans with milestones.
  • Coordinate all meeting and interface with business units, staff and service providers.
  • Set direction at an operational level, works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals.
  • Direct or manages large-scale applications, programs or projects across multiple product lines, involving significant scope and complexity.
  • Ensure delivery of projects to the business partner, meeting the approved scope/cost/schedule/quality for the project.
  • Perform a governing role for, ensuring that the proposal, execution, control, deployment, training and hand off, warranty support, and closure meet promised schedules.
  • Perform risk identification and mitigation activities, escalating unresolved issues to the Executive and / or Steering Committee where appropriate to secure their timely decisions/support.
  • Manage the acquisition and deployment of resources, including budget, by working with the Project Managers to secure the resources required for the project.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with the project process and project team by effective and timely communication including status reporting, continual risk/issue assessment/management and escalation, and resolution of issues as they arise.
MUST HAVE:
  • Solid IT PM experience (preferably candidates who have managed digital channels or infrastructure projects)
  • Solid communication skills where they can talk to both technology and business stakeholders
  • Solid PMLC/SDLC experience
  • Experience with projects from initiation to completion and can take on inflight projects with minimal instruction
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing large and complex IT projects.
  • Full life cycle development experience.
  • Experience with proven project methodology tools. PMI or ITIL certification.
  • Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
Nice to have
  • Financial industry / Banking experience is preferred but nice to have
  • PMP is preferred but nice to have, depending on the experience

  • Infrastructure PM experience *         10 Yrs.
  • MS Office tools, Visio, MS Project, PowerPoint *   10 Yrs.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) *  Yes
  • SDLC / PMLC and understand the dynamics of complex delivery (not just methodology) *          10 Yrs.
  • Solid SDLC/PMLC experience and vendor management experience *       10 Yrs.
