An expanding London manufacturer of Precision Tooling, Dies and Special Machines has an IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time permanent Mechanical Designer.

An expanding London manufacturer of Precision Tooling, Dies and Special Machines has an IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time permanent Mechanical Designer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop complete designs for complex automation systems
- Create detailed drawings optimized for proper machining techniques
- Working knowledge of material selection, finish and hardness
- Produce an accurate bill of materials and general assembly drawings
- Work closely with the engineering team to create and present new concepts
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- College diploma in mechanical design or equivalent
- 5 years of Solidworks experience
- A good understanding of AutoCad and Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of common fabrication and manufacturing techniques
- Experience in the field of automation including assembly, robotics, leak testing, etc.
- Hands on mechanical experience or trade apprenticeship are an asset
Behavioral Attributes:
- Able to think creatively and solve technical problems with design solutions
- Excellent attention to detail by creating clear and well laid out engineering drawings
- Able to break down design into smaller manageable chunks, work to schedule and be responsible for delivering on time
- Flexibility to adjust schedule on short notice if project demand dictates
- You should naturally have a practical mind and with good mechanical logic
- Customer/service focused/team player, able to deal with internal and external customer enquiries or issues with mechanical designs
