The function of the HAYHOE HOMES Service Technician is to assure completion of all aspects of service work required on new homes and deliver the new homes to the satisfaction of our customers, on schedule and within the budgetary and manpower constraints of the job. The Service Technician shall perform these duties with minimal direction or help from the Service Manager.

The following qualifications are required:

Two years’ experience as a journeyman or general construction worker on jobs of $100,000 or higher, preferably at the general contractor level in the homebuilding industry.

Ability to prioritize job activities and ensure schedules are maintained.

An understanding of work planning, scheduling, and costing processes along with the ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical and HVAC diagrams, and other product and construction specifications.

Proficient in such computer programs as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Valid Ontario drivers license.

It is required that the Service Technician have the ability work 40-44 hours per week, including coordination with the Service Manager to respond to emergency calls on weekends.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Service Technician is expected to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather environments, including rain, snow, heavy wind, extreme heat and cold, smoke, fog, and lightning. Frequent use of ladders is required, and positioning at high levels on buildings and structures is expected. Daily driving is required in the weather conditions mentioned above. The job requires a strong sense of balance, manual dexterity in hands, upper body and lower extremity strength, and the ability to squeeze into tight areas for purposes of planning, inspection, and construction installation.
