Job Description: | Our Windsor, Ontario based client is seeking an experienced HR professional for a 16 month contract. The HR Generalist acts as a strategic partner to provide support and advice for labour and employment related matters, including the application of policies and procedures, employee dispute handling and resolution, conflict investigation and resolution, attendance management, discipline and performance management for a specific client group. Participating in the development of employee relations strategies; champions the vision, mission and strategic plan Coach managers on a variety of HR issues and general employee management Provide guidance based on strong knowledge of employment laws and practices ensure all necessary legal documentation, compliance, and controls are in place Provide and assist with the implementation of creative ideas to enhance employee productivity and engagement Deploying training to management and staff to promote a positive work environment and to minimize the risk or impact of third party activities Developing documentation in response to employment-related charges or claims. Providing strategic human resource consulting and ensuring effective delivery of services to business partners Collaborating with the business to diagnose and solve workforce challenges Lead or work on HR projects with a local and/or global impact as needed |
Experience: | Bachelor’s degree/diploma required CHRP/CHRL an asset 7 (+) years’ of HR experience with an emphasis in employee relations is preferred Experience within a non-union manufacturing environment is preferred Strong knowledge of Human Resources across multiple functions Knowledge of local employment laws Broad knowledge and experience in: recruiting, performance management, training and development, employee relations, and organizational planning and development Strong interpersonal and client service skills – this role will involve both significant interaction with senior managers as well as interaction with external vendors Good sense of judgment and decision making Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to multi-task as well as meet short deadlines in a demanding environment Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work Good communicator with the ability to effectively communicate up, down and across levels of the organization |
Salary: | Up to $60k/year |
