Or if you have experience in residential construction, renovation or Home Inspection, we can help you expand your expertise by training to become a Certified Energy Advisor through the BuyWise CEA Academy. We partner with you to help start your business while preparing to write the mandatory government exams.
 
Positions are available throughout Ontario.
 
 
CEA Responsibilities

• Collect Onsite data of the house
• Conduct air leakage, Blower Door Tests
• On the  client’s behalf, prepare all required documents
• Submit required information to our Business Management System

 
Qualifications

• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Excellent Communication Skills – a 2nd language is an asset
• Excellent Computer Skills
• Knowledge of house construction is mandatory — minimum 3 years experience in:
  > New Home Construction, OR
  > Residential Home Renovation, OR
  > Home Inspection, OR
  > Engineering, OR
  > Architecture
• Must be willing to travel to surrounding communities

• Acceptable transportation – your own vehicle
• Blower Door Equipment
• Ladder
• Various Small Tools
• Digital Camera
• Microsoft Windows based computer
• 3 in 1 Printer with Sheet Feed Scanner
• High-Speed Internet

• You have the experience behind you from a Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Certified Trainer that has helped certify over 120 energy advisors in Canada
• Mixture of Home Study and In-Class Study to suit your busy schedule to work at your own pace

• Actual onsite Home Energy Assessment experience and complete house modelling in the classroom
• Mentoring as you complete and submit a portfolio for review of practice home assessments

About BuyWise Consulting Inc.
 
BuyWise Consulting began operations as a Home Inspection company in 2000. In 2007 we received a license from Natural Resources Canada (“NRCan”) to deliver energy rating programs for existing and new housing. In addition, we are licensed to train energy advisors for Certification by NRCan.
 
By 2012, BuyWise was one of the largest energy rating firms in Canada with over 120 Certified Energy Advisors in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, as well as 12 head office support staff in London, Ontario.
 
In 2014, Union Gas introduced incentives for home energy upgrades. As such, BuyWise is poised to offer expert rating services and an exceptional CEA training program to be in a position to assist homeowners with energy assessments.
 
Recently, the province has announced additional funding and by 2019, home energy rating in Ontario will become mandatory before a homeowner or builder can sell their home.  Meanwhile, Alberta will be introducing a new home incentive program in 2017. The time is definitely now to foster environmental change in our communities.
