Job Description

DESCRIPTION:
 
The Shift Supervisor will lead the production team on their assigned shift. They have three key areas of responsibility with respect to production: supervision, processing, and mold sets. The position requires oversight of the entire production floor to ensure the efficient output of high quality components.
Duties will include: ensuring raw material is handled and processed properly; finished goods are packaged and labeled according to Quality standard and customer requirements; and that employees are properly trained and are meeting the basic requirements of their positions.
The Shift Supervisor will also be required to assist as a Process Technician, as needed, to ensure all molds/production jobs are operating properly and being maintained.
The Shift Supervisor will also be responsible for performing 5S and Process Audits.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Injection Molding Processing
  • Setting of Molds
  • Interface with Human Resources to coordinate staffing and training
  • Coordinate Machine Assignments
  • Performance Reviews/Level Recommendations for Direct Reports
  • Assist with training and corrective actions/recommendations
  • Enforce Company Policy and recommend disciplinary actions
  • Housekeeping/Organization – 5S
  • Coordinate applicable secondary and sorting/rework in the area
  • Part Quality Inspections
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • A minimum of two years experience supervising a Production Team preferred. Must also be able to deal effectively and professionally with team members
  • Demonstrated innovation and cost effectiveness
  • Process capability, troubleshooting, and robotics
  • Able to effectively lead a cross-function/departmental internal team
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment characterized by high growth
  • Previous plastic injection molding knowledge & experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-3 years’ experience with processing engineering grade materials (resins, polyesters, nylons) Familiar with process control and SPC
  • Scientific molding skills for machine set-ups/adjustments an asset
  • Leadership, motivation and coaching skills to develop self-directed employees
  • Computer and Blueprint reading skills a plus
