An expanding London manufacturer of Precision Tooling, Dies and Special Machines has an IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time permanent Controls Technician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial equipment and automation including PLCs, HMI, frequency drives, temperature control and other related devices.
- Perform preventive repair and maintenance of field, plant, and shop electronic and electrical systems, devices, equipment and components
- Design and modify circuits, read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Prepare schedules and coordinate activities with other departments
- Ensure accurate and appropriate completion of all preventive maintenance duties
- Must be able to travel
- Order the required electrical components
- Customer technical support
- Create manuals
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree/diploma in Controls, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
- Electrical Technician certification from an accredited institution
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience developing complex customer or product logic solutions
- Must have experience in PLC and HMI programming
- Rockwell RSLogix 5000 and FactoryTalk an asset
- Siemens TIA Portal and/or Step 7 and WinCC Flexible experience an asset
- Omron or other PLC additional experience preferred
