Job Description

The Registrar's Office provides services, guidance and assistance to students and faculty across campus in accordance with the University's Strategic Plan. Five key areas of the portfolio are: Vice Provost (Academic Programs), Office of the Registrar, Student Services Support Group, Teaching & Learning Services, and Western Continuing Studies.
 
The Administrative Coordinator is accountable for ensuring the administrative functions in the office of the Vice- Provost (Academic Programs) are well managed, efficient and result in outcomes that contribute to the University mission and the mission of the Office of the Vice- Provost (Academic Programs), which is critical to providing the best student experience. The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing and managing processes for the management of Undergraduate Program Reviews, both new and cyclical, within the guidelines of the university's Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP).The Administrative Coordinator also supports the furthering of the teaching mission of the University by providing support to the Vice- Provost (Academic Programs) relating to the Teaching Support Centre and Western Continuing Studies and in the development and updating of policies.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   Undergraduate university degree
 
Experience:
-   5 years' progressive administrative experience with demonstrated accountabilities in project coordination
-   5 years' experience supporting senior executives or in a post-secondary educational environment is preferred
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-   Strong knowledge and understanding of the Quality Assurance Framework and Western's Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP)
-   Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, and a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
-   Strong knowledge of the University's policies and procedures with particular attention to student services and academic policies preferred i.e. Handbook of Academic Policies, Policy on Academic Rights and Responsibilities
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
-   A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
-   Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
-   Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
-   Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities both for self and others effectively
-   Influential interpersonal skills that build positive and strong relationships at all levels of the organization
-   Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
-   Demonstrated ability to apply creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to daily work
-   Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
-   Ability to work strategically, tactically, and operationally
-   High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal and external clients at all levels of management
-   Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
