Engineering Project Manager

Job Description

Our client, a large defense manufacturer in LONDON, ONTARIO is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join their team.

Required Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in Engineering or technical discipline
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Project or Engineering role
• Experience with mobile equipment automotive systems
• Demonstrates a high level of oral and written communications
• Experience with Bid & Proposal developmental procedures and requirements
• Highly effective planning, analytical, and negotiation skills

Job Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Project Engineering Team
• Liaise closely with the ED&T groups to update internal/external schedules and assist with the resolution of day-to-day issues
• Liaise as required with other and Subcontractor departments, ensuring that new designs are developed in accordance with the requirements of the prime contract(s)
• Coordinate and support the corrective actions, Subcontractor Engineering Changes, and miscellaneous technical tasks
• Coordinate the development of the Engineering portion of Contract Change Proposals
• Assist in the investigation, analysis and recommendation of corrective action to address project and test issues
• Engineering support for vehicles undergoing upgrades and Production Verification testing
• Attend customer meetings as required (In process reviews, Scoring conferences, Start of Work Meetings, CCB meeting, etc.)
• Coordinate and assist with project(s) execution for scope, cost and schedule, using EVMS and existing departmental procedures and guidance documents

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding and experience working with the US government
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
• Certification in Project Management
• Knowledge and/or experience in the application of relevant military standards, military equipment usage and doctrines
• Experience working with Subcontractors and Supply Chain Management

Due to the nature of the position, successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, including, but not limited to, the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance to secret level.
