Job Description

Facilities Management (FM) is responsible for the planning, development, construction, operation, maintenance and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites and services within Western's campus community.
 
  Responsibilities
  The Parking Operations Coordinator is a key resource to ensure communication and customer satisfaction is at the highest level. You will be responsible for the recruitment and supervision of approximately 100 student staff and will manage relationships with both internal and external clients. The Coordinator plays a critical role in managing event parking, ensuring a high and consistent standard of parking control and services is delivered to the University community and that all legislative requirements are met.
 
  Qualifications
  Education:
-   Undergraduate degree
-   Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or BMOS preferred
-   CIM preferred

Experience:
-   3 years leadership experience with responsibility for Financials and Human Resources, including supervisory experience
-   3 years parking service related experience in an institutional setting, preferably in a university environment
-   3 years bylaw/security management experience preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   Excellent troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems in the field and conduct first line maintenance
-   Advanced understanding of parking technologies, both software and infrastructure (includes preventative maintenance, restoration and repairs)
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
-   Basic knowledge of law enforcement concepts
-   Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
-   Demonstrated analytical ability and basic understanding of key financial concepts
-   Ability to process detailed information with a high level of accuracy
-   Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and web based programs
-   Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach team members as well as support internal/external clients
-   Strong people management experience with direct accountability for recruitment, on-going training and development, performance management and conflict resolution
-   Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to execute and manage events of various sizes
-   Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University’s events and activities
-   Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
-   Knowledge of parking and safety regulations including the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Facilities Management policies and procedures
