Job Description

Electrical Engineering
 
Responsible for but not limited to:
 
  • Printed Circuit Board Design
  • Perform all aspects of technical work
  • Ensure all Engineering aspects of the Electrical systems are sound and that designs meet all associated design criteria and specifications
  • Participate and lead in the design, preparation and approval of electrical, instrumentation and control systems and standards
  • Review technical work and contract requirements
  • Determine electrical and instrumentation requirements for new projects
  • Recommend technical direction for application of new equipment and upgrade of existing equipment, and assists in the support of existing systems
  • Use Python to write test scripts
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Certificate or qualification in the electronics field.
  • Work experience encompassing embedded systems, communications and programming.
  • Detailed understanding of diodes, transistors, IC (VLSI, PAL, CPLD, FPGA, etc), opt-electric devices, display technologies, discharge devices and power sources.
  • Experience reading circuit schematics and troubleshooting electrical circuits (JTAG), understanding of general processor architecture and functionality.
  • Experience with RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet, Lon works and other communication protocols.
  • Experience in National Instruments LabView/LabWindows, C/C++, Python, Javascript, Perl, Lisp, Visual Basic programming, Altium.
  • Detailed understanding of electronic equipment (power supply, meters, oscilloscopes, programmable load, etc.)
  • Flexibility and ability to learn new skills, tools and technologies quickly.
  • Hands on skills like soldering and using basic hand tools.
  • Creativity, problem solving, attention to detail, manage individual tasks and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio or other flow chart software.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review,
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance practices in hardware/software or electronics field.
  • Familiar with environmental, EMC and product Safety testing and troubleshooting.
  • All development activities are performed in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
  • Able to read, understand and apply procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
