EA – TRANSCRIBER

CLASSIFICATION:      Educational Assistant (10 month position)

LOCATION:                 Oakridge S.S.

RATE OF PAY:           $20.87 - $25.22 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

HOURS OF WORK:    Full-time: 7 hours per day

START DATE:             As Soon as Possible

JOB SUMMARY: Through a team approach, the Educational Assistant will assist the student(s) and their teacher(s) with the academic program in a manner that facilitates the emotional, social, and academic growth of the student(s) according to their individual and collective needs. In addition to the specific areas mentioned in the postings, the Educational Assistant is assigned to the school location and therefore may be assigned duties outside the posting as deemed necessary by the Principal.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

A two-year Community College Diploma or acceptable equivalent with courses relating to the specific assignment (i.e. Developmental Services Worker, Registered Nurse, Early Childhood Educator, etc.).

**MUST HAVE INTRODUCTION TO BRAILLE AND CONTRACTED BRAILLE IN ORDER TO APPLY AND BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. EXPERIENCE TRANSCRIBING WOULD BE AN ASSET.**
