HR Generalist / Talent Acquisition Specialist

Digital Boundary Group is an information technology security assurance services firm supporting clients worldwide.  We provide information security assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, intrusion investigation services, and security training.   We are currently looking for an experienced HR Generalist / Talent Acquisition Specialist to grow and retain our highly talented team both in Canada and the US. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Talent Acquisition Specialist Duties:

  • Develop and execute recruitment programs to effectively attract applicants
  • Facilitate and actively participate in campus recruiting efforts and job fairs
  • Prepare, review and finalize job postings in partnership with management and manage the posting process
  • Source, identify, screen and interview qualified candidates
  • Arrange interviews between qualified candidates and managers by coordinating schedules
  • Conduct reference checks and skills testing
  • Coordinate criminal background checks, and other pre-employment tasks
  • Assist management in the preparation of offer letters

HR Generalist Duties:

  • Provide key HR functions
  • Responsible for the organization of on-boarding and orientation of new employees
  • Monitor and track performance appraisal procedures and assist management in conducting effective and timely reviews
  • Help resolve concerns and issues between management and employees
  • Assist management in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Maintain employee time & vacation tracking system and manage attendance; analyze time and resource metrics; prepare reports
  • Maintain employee training and certification database
  • Understand and stay current on labour laws and regulations (both Canada & US)
  • Responsible for advising management on compliance issues with the Ministry of Labour / Employment Standards Act, WSIB, AODA, OHSA, Human Rights, etc.
  • Facilitate and actively participate in company health & safety initiatives & training
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information
  • Group benefits administration
  • Assist with payroll, or complete if necessary

Perform other related duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or related field of study or commensurate experience
  • Special Training / Certification – CHRP/CHRM considered an asset
  • Practical experience in all aspects of Human Resources
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit talent
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient and effective manner with minimal supervision, but enjoy being a part of the team
  • Candidate must be flexible, proactive, and demonstrate a high level of credibility
  • High level of ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential issues
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise flexibility and adaptability to change
