Vari-Form Inc. is a leader in advanced tube hydroforming technology for the development and manufacture of products used by the automotive industry. Vari-Form Inc. has three facilities in Strathroy, Ontario and additional sites located in USA, Italy, China, and Mexico.  Vari-Form Inc. is a division of the Crowne Group who is a leading manufacturer of automotive and industrial components to the Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket (AM) industries.
 
Our Quality team has an opening on our day shift for the below position at our Strathroy, Ontario location.  This position is responsible for the overall quality management of assigned production programs and AQP activities to comply with Vari-Form’s Quality System and customer requirements. The scope of this includes customers, suppliers, and internal departments and locations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide quality engineering support and direction to assigned work-cells, including ensuring quality representation at production CI meetings, and conducting work-cell readiness audits.
2. Handle customer and supplier issues in a timely manner. Ensure compliance to customer requirements, and work with suppliers to comply with Vari-Form expectations.
3. Manage program documentation to ensure current controls are maintained, and work towards continuous improvement of same (i.e. Control Plans, FMEA’s, IR’s, OI’s, etc.).
4. Proactively lead and / or participate with corrective and preventative actions and problem solving initiatives for timely resolution.
5. Assist with team management of engineering changes.
6. Provide guidance to Quality Technicians to ensure efficient resource support.
7. Perform AQP activities for assigned programs to ensure successful program launch.
8. Develop working knowledge of all programs in respective Vari-Form manufacturing plant (focused factory) to provide back up to other EQ’s as required.
9. Ensure compliance with Quality System. Assist to continually educate others and improve existing system. Perform Internal Audits as assigned.
10. Special projects as assigned by Management.
11. Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety. 

Educational Requirements and Skills:

1. College diploma or University Degree related to the manufacturing environment.
2. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in automotive industry. High level of knowledge for automotive requirements (AQP, PPAP, PSO, etc.), material properties, metrology, GDT&T, Statistical Applications and other applicable subjects.
3. Experience as a Quality Engineer with some accreditation (such as ASQ – CQE, CQA, etc.).
4. Excellent knowledge of Quality Systems.
5. Internal auditor and / or Lead Auditor accredited by a recognized institution.
6. Problem solving abilities in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Must have advanced computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office products. 
8. Ability to travel out of country.
