Pay: $35.00-$45.00/hour

Our client is seeking an experienced Robotic Weld Technician to join their manufacturing team in Sarnia, Ontario. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with robotic welding systems and strong welding and troubleshooting skills.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Sarnia, Ontario
Shift: Straight Days / Potential Day-Evening Rotation

Compensation: $35.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate robotic welding systems, preferably Motoman.
  • Modify and optimize robotic weld programs to improve weld quality and production efficiency.
  • Set up welding cells, fixtures, tooling, wire, gas, and welding parameters.
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding equipment, weld cells, fixtures, sensors, and related equipment.
  • Perform manual MIG welding as required to support production.
  • Monitor and adjust welding parameters to maintain consistent weld quality.
  • Identify and correct common welding defects and production issues.
  • Inspect welds and completed assemblies for quality and defects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Set up and maintain welding fixtures and tooling.
  • Perform routine maintenance on robotic and manual welding equipment.
  • Replace and maintain welding consumables, including tips, nozzles, liners, wire, and other components.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of welding consumables.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic welding systems.
  • Experience programming and operating robotic welding equipment.
  • Motoman experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong MIG/MAG welding experience.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, parameters, and equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting robotic welding cells and welding equipment.
  • Ability to set up welding fixtures and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Welding certification or technical training is an asset.
  • Experience with robotic weld cell maintenance and setup is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Straight-day shift with potential for day/evening rotation.
  • Overtime may be required based on production requirements.
  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Must wear required PPE.
  • Exposure to welding fumes, heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
