With ten private suites, welcoming family spaces, and a holistic model of care, Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin supports individuals and loved ones through life’s most meaningful moments.

Under the sponsorship of St. Joseph’s Health Care Society, with a 150+ year legacy of Catholic healthcare in the region, Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin delivers person-centred, multi-faith hospice palliative care, grief and bereavement support, and community-based services that honour the unique needs, beliefs, and traditions of each individual and those closest to them. Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to partner with Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin in the recruitment of a community-focused and strategic Executive Director. This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced, relationship-oriented executive with a passion for healthcare, community impact, and organizational leadership. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership as the organization’s primary ambassador and advocate for hospice palliative care throughout the region.

This experienced Executive Director will be the face of the hospice, while advancing the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability, and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality hospice palliative care services. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, physicians, volunteers, donors, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders, the Executive Director will strengthen organizational relationships, support effective governance, and provide leadership across strategic planning, operations, risk management, and organizational performance. As the organization’s senior leader and public representative, the Executive Director will cultivate strong partnerships with donors, local, regional, and provincial healthcare providers, Ontario Health teams, government agencies, and community organizations to advance equitable access to hospice palliative care services.

The Executive Director will support and ensure the effectiveness of the fundraising team, while maintaining an active and visible presence with donors, community partners, and philanthropic stakeholders to advance initiatives that support long-term sustainability, community engagement, and the continued growth and impact of Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin.

Internally, the Executive Director will foster a collaborative and high-performing culture grounded in compassion, accountability, and continuous improvement. This includes overseeing operations, supporting staff and volunteer engagement and development, ensuring effective human resource practices, and providing oversight across financial management, infrastructure, compliance, privacy, and organizational risk.

As a values-driven leader with an entrepreneurial mind, the Executive Director will ensure Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin remains responsive, sustainable, and aligned with the evolving needs of the community and healthcare system.
