Industrial Millwright
Key focus:
Responsible for the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of Injection Molding Machines and all other manufacturing equipment to support the production work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the Injection Molding Machines, carrying out preventive as well as break down maintenance as per instructions
- Troubleshooting and rebuilding of the Metering Units and pumps
- Troubleshooting and rebuilding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic auxiliary equipment (plant equipment and machinery)
- Complete installation and commissioning of injection molding machines and other auxiliary equipment
- Maintain clear documentation and records
- Carry out preventative maintenance on machines as required
- Follow Lock Out/ Tag Out procedures
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining the condition of parts
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of quality issues
- Train new team members in the department
- Maintain clean work bench, tools and other related areas
- General fabrication and welding as required
- Adhere to GMP, Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and QMS standards are maintained
- Adhere to government regulations and guidelines for machinery repairs
- Responsible cooperation with all other departments
Successful candidate will have:
- Industrial Millwright 433A License required
- 3-5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with injection molding machines is an asset
- Basic electrical and PLC knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and specifications
- High degree of technical & mechanical aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests
- Must be able to read, write, and understand basic English
- Good people skills
- Problem solving/ troubleshooting
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail
