Experience:         3-5 years relevant experience in machine repair and maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Education:          Industrial Millwright 433A License (or 4th year apprentice)

Key focus:

Responsible for the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of Injection Molding Machines and all other manufacturing equipment to support the production work schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of the Injection Molding Machines, carrying out preventive as well as break down maintenance as per instructions
  • Troubleshooting and rebuilding of the Metering Units and pumps
  • Troubleshooting and rebuilding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic auxiliary equipment (plant equipment and machinery)
  • Complete installation and commissioning of injection molding machines and other auxiliary equipment
  • Maintain clear documentation and records
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on machines as required
  • Follow Lock Out/ Tag Out procedures
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining the condition of parts
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
  • Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving of quality issues
  • Train new team members in the department
  • Maintain clean work bench, tools and other related areas
  • General fabrication and welding as required
  • Adhere to GMP, Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and QMS standards are maintained
  • Adhere to government regulations and guidelines for machinery repairs
  • Responsible cooperation with all other departments

Successful candidate will have:
  • Industrial Millwright 433A License required 
  • 3-5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with injection molding machines is an asset
  • Basic electrical and PLC knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and specifications
  • High degree of technical & mechanical aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand basic English
  • Good people skills
  • Problem solving/ troubleshooting
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail
