In partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., Ardent Industries is recruiting for a results-oriented Corporate Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join their growing team.
As the Corporate EHS Manager at Ardent, you will play a pivotal role in shaping corporate strategy by developing and implementing environmental, health, and safety policies and programs. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety excellence and enhancing the well-being of their partners.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Partner Experience, you will interact with employees at all levels to drive EHS initiatives forward. This influential role operates at a corporate level and provides EHS leadership to the entire Ardent family of companies.
As the Corporate EHS Manager, you will be accountable for:
- Providing strategic EHS leadership by designing, planning, and implementing environmental, health and safety programs and policies in support of overall Ardent initiatives.
- Progressing, and promoting an employee focused safety culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance across all Ardent companies.
- Developing relationships of trust and respect with organizational leaders to meet the needs of the organization effectively.
Your responsibilities as the Corporate EHS Manager will include:
- Ensuring continuity of EHS practices across all Ardent companies.
- Engaging stakeholders, including Ownership, General Managers and the rest of their respective teams to promote engagement and involvement in EHS initiatives.
- Leading the development of corporate EHS policies and programs, including design, content, communication plans, resources and tools at the corporate level in partnership with site HR/EHS Managers.
- Conducting comprehensive compliance audits and developing action plans to address identified gaps and areas for improvement.
- Leading the implementation of EHS software (eCompliance) and analyzing statistics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Developing Ardent wide policies encompassing key EHS areas tailored to meet local regulatory requirements.
- Measuring and analyzing EHS statistics and recommending actions for improvement.
- Fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and accountability across Ardent companies.
- Conducting environmental audits and developing action plans to address environmental risks.
- Leading pollution prevention activities and promoting sustainable practices.
- Developing environmental reporting metrics to monitor performance across Ardent.
- Supporting the Ardent companies by assisting in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, guidelines, conducting training and offering ongoing support.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- University degree or college diploma, specializing in environmental or occupational health & safety discipline.
- 5+ years of experience leading health and safety initiatives in a multi-site organization.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
- Health and safety-related designation (e.g., CRSP or CHSC) is an asset.
- Familiarity with third-party safety prequalifiers (ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various locations.
This role will be based in Aylmer, Ontario with travel to all site locations.
