Electrical Apprentice
We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice who is an energetic and motivated individual with basic knowledge in electrical and controls systems.

Position summary:
Ingenuity is looking for an Electrical Apprentice who will work with our Master Electrician repairing, troubleshooting, and installing electrical systems in schools, hospitals and various other settings. Ingenuity is committed to the apprenticeship training program process as outlined by Skilled Trades Ontario.

Job Description:
  • Assist in the installation and troubleshooting of basic electrical systems and associated control systems under the supervision of the master electrician
  • Assemble basic electrical circuits and equipment to fulfill requirements and specifications under the supervision of the master electrician
  • Assist in the interpretation and preparation of electrical drawings including other related documents and graphics
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of records and documentation systems
  • Assist in the selection of electrical equipment, systems and components to fulfill the requirements and specifications under the supervision of a qualified person
  • Use and maintain test and instrumentation equipment
  • Use computer skills and tools to solve basic electrical related problems
  • Assist in conducting quality assurance procedures under the supervision of a qualified person
  • Perform tasks in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, standards, regulations and ethical principles
  • Communicate with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times
  • Collaborate with other contractors and co-workers
  • Travel to various job sites to assist the master electrician within Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford Counties 
  • Complete other duties as directed by the controls manager
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Enrolled (or enrolling) in Apprentice program; 1st to 5th Year apprentice
  • Registered (or will register) with the College of Trades
  • Completion of Pre-Apprentice training program preferred
  • Driver’s licence and acceptable work vehicle
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing workloads.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow through skills
  • Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
