ABOUT THIS POSITION

Digital Extremes is seeking a mid to senior Software Engineer to join our Web Team. Do you have a passion for creating innovative and engaging web products? RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build innovative web and online products to extend our game experiences and communities.
• Follow the team lead’s architectural guidance and write quality code.
• Writes clean, performant code in one or more relevant languages (PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL).
• Comfortable with interacting with APIs, web client concepts like CORS, accessibility, cookies, local storage.
• Understands common design patterns, refactoring.
• Participate in team-wide code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver world-class, player-first web experiences.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
• A team player with excellent communication and documentation skills and experience
• Comfortable with front-end and back-end web technologies, CMS, working with API layers, and open source technologies (Laravel, NodeJS, Apache, Redis, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Ability to adapt visual designs and layouts into web UIs using frameworks and CSS (React, Vue, Bootstrap)
• Fluency in one or more web programming languages (PHP, Javascript, Python, etc.)
• Can optimize page and image load time/bandwidth, adapt pages to multiple devices (desktop, mobile)
• Familiarity with source control tools and management (Git or similar)

PREFERRED EXTRAS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Familiarity with graphic design and prototyping tools (such as Photoshop, Figma)
• Experience with web projects that complement or extend Software as a Service or Games as a Service products - e-commerce, community, publishing, etc.
• Previous experience in an agile environment with CI/CD
