We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our Watford, Ontario manufacturing facility. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to uphold high quality standards. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining core quality documentation, leading the PPAP process, supporting APQP activities, and acting as a primary liaison for customer and supplier quality issues.
The Quality Engineer ensures compliance to internal, customer-specific, and industry standards while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our Watford, Ontario manufacturing facility. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to uphold high quality standards. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining core quality documentation, leading the PPAP process, supporting APQP activities, and acting as a primary liaison for customer and supplier quality issues.
The Quality Engineer ensures compliance to internal, customer-specific, and industry standards while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
- Develop, maintain, and manage core quality documents including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Inspection Instructions, and Work Instructions.
- Participate in the creation and review of product and process documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Address and resolve customer concerns promptly through customer portals or preferred communication methods.
- Prepare, submit, and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, samples, and supporting evidence.
- Participate in cross-functional Corrective Action meetings; identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues.
- Manage the NCR/CAR process and maintain Lessons Learned / Read Across logs.
- Evaluate and approve supplier PPAP submissions in accordance with the Supplier Quality Manual.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Train production employees on new products, measurement tools, gauges, visual standards, error-proofing samples, boundary samples, and inspection/working instructions.
- Provide on-floor quality support to Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Operators to ensure compliance with customer and quality system requirements.
- Complete dimensional reports, capability studies, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and gauge R&R evaluations.
- Perform internal LPA, Process and supplier audits.
- Work collaboratively across all departments to resolve manufacturing issues, enhance processes, and support continuous quality improvement.
- Minimum 3 years of quality experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Post-secondary degree, ideally in engineering or related field.
- CQE, CQT, or equivalent Quality/Manufacturing certifications are considered an asset.
- Experience with quality or engineering software tools is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA, 8D, MSA, GD&T, Gauge R&R, and general metrology.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of standards, specifications, and customer-specific requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and using data for process improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and deliver presentations to management, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to lead problem-solve activities and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience using AI tools for process improvement, analysis, or documentation is an asset (training provided).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications.
